By Brandon Sundwall, Founder — Virtuo Personal Training, West 3rd St, Beverly Grove, Los Angeles

If you are looking for a personal trainer in West Hollywood, there is a good chance you have already tried the other options. The boot camp classes. The group fitness studio. Maybe a gym membership you used for a few weeks before life got in the way. And if none of it stuck, I want to tell you something I tell almost every new client who walks through our door.

Of course it didn’t work. It wasn’t made for you.

That is not a knock on those programs. It is just the truth. Classes are built for the average person on an average schedule with average goals. If you are a busy parent juggling school drop-offs and work deadlines, or a professional whose schedule changes every week, or someone who is getting older and starting to feel like the generic gym approach just isn’t cutting it anymore — those programs were never going to work for you. Not because you failed them. Because they were never designed around your actual life.

That is exactly what we built Virtuo to fix.

Why Busy West Hollywood Professionals Need a Personal Trainer, Not a Class

Here is what I have learned working as a personal trainer serving West Hollywood and Beverly Grove for over ten years. The people who struggle most with consistency are almost never lazy. They are the opposite. They are the ones running hardest, carrying the most, and trying to fit their health into whatever time is left over at the end of the day.

The problem with classes is that they ask you to fit your life around them. Fixed schedule. Fixed format. Fixed intensity. And the moment your kid gets sick, your work gets crazy, or you travel for a week — the whole thing collapses. You lose your spot, you lose your momentum, and you start over again feeling like you failed.

Working with a personal trainer in West Hollywood through Virtuo works differently. We build the program around your schedule, not the other way around. We start where you are — not where a class assumes you should be. And because you have a coach in your corner every session, you never have to walk into a gym wondering what to do or whether you are doing it right.

What Actually Changes When You Have the Right Plan

Hima runs a business and raises a family in Los Angeles. For years she had tried to get her health on track. She lost weight, gained it back, tried trainers, tried classes, tried going it alone. Every time she stopped, it felt like another failure. She told me she did not have room in her life — or her confidence — for another attempt that did not work.

When she came to Virtuo we did not overhaul her life. We started with twice-a-week sessions on her schedule. No dramatic changes. Just getting her into the gym consistently and letting her feel what it was like to actually make progress without the whole thing falling apart when real life happened.

Within a few weeks she told me she could not believe how much easier it was than she expected. A year later she is 20 pounds down and 10% body fat lost. But more than the numbers, she said the process felt easy and fast in a way she had never experienced before.

That is what happens when the program is built for you specifically — not for the average person in a group class.

5 Reasons a Personal Trainer in West Hollywood Works When Everything Else Hasn’t

1. You stop starting over

The start-stop cycle is almost always a system problem, not a willpower problem. When your program is built around your real schedule and adjusted as your life changes, it survives contact with reality. Classes don’t. A personalized plan does.

2. You always know exactly what to do

One of the most common things I hear from new clients is that they feel lost in the gym on their own. They do not know what exercises to do, how many sets, how hard to push, or whether what they are doing is actually working. When you work with a personal trainer in West Hollywood at Virtuo that problem disappears entirely. You show up, your coach is there, your program is ready, and all you have to do is do the work.

3. The program fits where you actually are

Getting older changes things. Injuries change things. A demanding job or a young family changes things. Generic programs ignore all of that. At Virtuo we build around your body, your history, and your life as it actually is right now — not as it was five years ago or as you think it should be.

4. Accountability that actually works

Accountability to yourself is the first thing to go when life gets hard. Accountability to a coach who is expecting you, has your program ready, and genuinely cares whether you show up is a completely different thing. Our members consistently tell us that having someone in their corner is what finally made the difference after years of trying on their own.

5. Results that compound over time

When training becomes consistent, something shifts. Energy improves. Strength builds. Sleep gets better. And the confidence that comes from knowing you can actually do this — that you have a system that works for your life — changes how you show up everywhere else. Our members call it the best hour of their day. That is what a program built specifically for you actually feels like.

Jerry

Client Success Manager

My role as a client success specialist is to give the best quality service so that clients have a stress-free experience from the moment they reach out to us to the moment they become lifelong members.

It’s my goal to make sure that Virtuo is the best and last gym our clients ever need to be a member of.

I’ve always been into sports, and for me there is no better way to de-stress than to go out and exercise, whether it’s playing soccer or lifting weights or just activating my body. I had the opportunity to play soccer in college at a more competitive level and from there I made it a point to always be in sports whether it be in any area. I’m currently in school for physical therapy and helping others with their health is my passion.

The philosophy I bring into my role is that people deserve to have the best hour of their day each time they set foot in the gym and beyond. To that end, I pride myself on providing the best possible customer service.

A fun fact about me soccer fascinates me, but at the same time, it’s the thing that gives me the most grief. I always tell myself that I’ll watch a game to relax and I end up more stressed than when I started watching it. I love watching it almost as much as I enjoyed playing it!

Jonathan

Coach

For Jonny, being active was a norm of life growing up. He played football, performed in track and field in high school, and played basketball on a daily basis with the neighborhood kids he grew up with.

However, unable to play collegiate sports, Jonny found himself at a crossroads.

He spent time in martial arts and soon found a love in CrossFit, becoming skilled and eventually took on coaching. After a few years he found that personal training was the next step in his fitness career and began work here at Virtuo and has worked his clients one on one ever since.

Jonny’s clients can tell you he brings a welcoming and engaging presence, a workout that is intentional in helping his clients pursue their goals, and an overall fun experience of conversation and possible rock music. Jonny takes a lot of pride in his efforts towards his clients as well as his willingness to take on any challenges presented to him.

A strong family oriented persona and ability to make a person feel good about themselves are things Jonny is proud of, knowing he can use those traits to make any client’s experience enjoyable. Fun facts about Jonny include his skill at playing guitar and singing, being an obsessive Philadelphia Eagles fan, and enjoying Nintendo games.

He has taken great strides in his focus on nutrition but will still enjoy his favorite cheat meals and will often challenge his clients to point him in the direction of their favorite hamburger restaurants for him to try.

Along with a rock star persona, Jonny sports a Pain Free Performance Specialist Certification, a Level 1 Crossfit Credential, and a Precision Nutrition Certification. These along with 5+ years of training experience are certain to make any client’s experience with Jonny a positive one.

Keith

Coach

Keith’s fitness journey started as a young athlete playing football for Pop Warner, high school, and college along with experience in track and field and basketball.

He not only gained experience in an active lifestyle, but used his positions in the sports he played to enhance his command and leadership skills in a fitness setting.

Any client of Keith’s will tell you that a session with him will include high energy, loud singing, and masterful DJ skills, all accompanied by a workout designed to bring the best out of his clients.

Apart from the effort he puts in the gym, Keith takes pride in his sobriety, his family, and the effort he puts into maintaining all the aspects of his life he is passionate about. Training people is a natural calling for Keith, helping him fulfill a desire to help others improve themselves in their movement, self-esteem, and overall well-being.

A couple of fun facts unique to Keith include his ability to not only sing with energy but with skill, adding to the experience of being trained by him where clients not only receive a great workout but perhaps a live concert as well.

Other trainers as Virtuo can tell you that Keith is second to none in his nutrition and meal prep, however, he will treat himself occasionally to bacon-and-egg filled breakfasts that include heaps of hash browns and steak.

Along with some qualifications for rock stardom, Keith sports a Level 1 Crossfit credential, a Precision Nutrition Certification, and other credentials in programming and corrective exercise. Any client in Keith’s hands is in good hands.

Brandon

Owner

As an entrepreneur and life-long fitness enthusiast, I have a deep understanding of the intersection of personal health and career success.

As I progressed in my career in the fitness industry I was frustrated by the profit-first model of many gyms and trainers. I looked around for a place that could bridge the gap between physical health and professional success that would treat each person as an individual rather than a number on a spreadsheet.

Inspired to help other’s unlock their dreams by first taking control of their health I created Virtuo as a place where busy profesionals could come to optimize and take control of themselves to achieve in their business and personal lives.
